My Handmade Studio: Light Inspiration

My Handmade Studio: Light Inspiration

It’s snowy and cold here, today in Western Ontario. Beautiful, but a tad treacherous to do anything but revel in its beauty!

It was sunny and clear and blue and very cold over the weekend, so I was happy to be inside with my boys puttering around and dreaming about my new studio.

We’ve decided to convert our downstairs TV room, as it has its own doors, great southern, western and northern light, a beautiful wood stove and a big enough footprint for my expanding needs.

We actually hardly ever use the space; we tend to spend most of our time in the great room on our main floor… I think most folks do this now. It’s right off the kitchen and filled with such beautiful natural light, a large window and toasty pellet stove.

I took a few Interior Design courses about 10 years ago, and I dusted off my memory and went to work on drawing up a floor plan and once I got going, it all fell back into place fairly quickly; so much fun.

If you follow me on Pinterest, I’m sure you’ve notice that I have a new board called “My Handmade Studio”.

I’ve been collected dreamy workspaces, DIY projects and generally inspiring images to add to a virtual mood board.

Today, I thought I’d share with you a collection of spaces that showcase a light, airy feel… which is what’s Number #1 on my list of requirements for the new space.
